Terengganu’s Audit Initiative On Popular Sites To Meet Highest Tourism Standards

KUALA TERENGGANU — The Terengganu State Tourism Department will initiate an audit of four tourist locations in August to ensure that it meets the highest criteria of domestic and international tourists’ standards and satisfaction.

The locations are Belukar Bukit in Hulu Terengganu, Lata Tembakah Waterfall in Besut, Chemerong Waterfall in Dungun and Lake Kenyir in Hulu Terengganu, said Its director Tun Ahmad Faisal Tun Abdul Razak.

He added that the audit process known as the My Terengganu Tourism Quality Service (My-TTQS), will focus on five aspects: safety, hygiene, infrastructure, service and information delivery and promotion and access to tourism sites.

He said this after a tourism seminar that was opened by Deputy Chairman 1 of the State Tourism, Culture and Information Committee, Sulaiman Sulong (pic above), here on Thursday.

More than 300 tourism industry players and cultural activists attended the event to share information and ideas.

The auditing process, Tun Ahmad Faisal added, would be conducted in collaboration with local government agencies to evaluate and rate tourism products at the site.

He said that Industry players must continue to improve the quality of services so that Terengganu would be the preferred tourist destination in line with the state government’s aspirations, he said – BERNAMA
