The son of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang today said that concerted efforts to promote Islam within the Pakatan Rakyat framework could convince more to convert to the faith, even DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
Muhamad Khalil Abdul Hadi, who is deputy chairman of the wing’s Tarbiyah Academy, said the Islamist party must constantly work towards establishing PR as an avenue to promote a better understanding of the religion.

“We have a dream, I myself (sic), that one day, Lim Guan Eng, the chief minister of Penang, will one day recite the Kalimah Syahadah,” he said, referring to the statement of faith that must be recited when an individual converts into Islam.
Muhamad Khalil, who is contesting for the wing’s deputy chairmanship, said this when responding to questions raised during the debate on PAS Youth’s annual report at their 54th Muktamar or general assembly here.-themalaymailonline
